The History of Rabobank

Rabobank was established over 100 years ago in the Netherlands, initially as a cooperative agricultural bank. Since then Rabobank has evolved and become one of the very few AA-rated banks in the world today. This distinction makes Rabobank unique in the world of commercial banking. Rabobank is ranked among the world's top 40 banks when measured by Tier 1 equity, and is the world leader in virtually all food and agribusiness markets.

The Rabobank Group consists of: Rabobank, Rabobank International, Robeco Group, Interpolis, De Lage Landen, Gilde Investment, Schretlen & Co and Effectenbank Stroeve.

Rabobank International, the international arm of the Rabobank Group, was established 20 years ago and has progressively cultivated its expertise and involvement in a diverse portfolio of global capital and treasury markets, structured finance and corporate banking activities. Over the years the Rabobank Group has expanded its geographical scope and now has 169 branches in 34 countries that span all continents. This includes the Irish operation based in Dublin's Irish Financial Services Centre.
